2022 Concordia Leadership Award Recipient: Ginni Rometty

The Concordia Leadership Award celebrates leaders from the public, private, and nonprofit spheres who help to elevate and build strong partnerships. Anita McBride, Executive in Residence at the Center for Congressional and Presidential Studies in the School of Public Affairs at American University, Concordia Leadership Council Member, and Chair of the Concordia Leadership Award Committee, spoke about this year’s winner for the private sector: Ginni Rometty, Co-Chair of the Executive Board of OneTen and Former Chairman, President & CEO of IBM. Through her work with OneTen, Rometty helps to provide economic empowerment and job opportunities for one million Black Americans, building and fostering economic opportunity. During her tenure at IBM, Rometty positioned the company for digital stewardship, focused on diversity, equity, and inclusion, and positioned working mothers for sustaining success. McBride accepted the award on Rometty’s behalf.
