Concordia’s seventh Annual Summit, held on September 18th & 19th at the Grand Hyatt New York, was the largest nonpartisan forum on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly, bringing together over 2,600 of the world’s preeminent thought leaders, influencers, and decision-makers from across all sectors and levels. The goal: to spark dialogue and fuel debate around today’s most pressing global challenges, and to build lasting cross-sector partnerships. The report features summaries of all Plenary and Strategic Dialogue sessions, including key takeaways and quotes, as well as highlighting overall figures for attendees, speakers, press, and more.

At the 2017 Annual Summit, Members heard first hand from prominent world leaders on efforts and best practices in establishing and driving successful public-private partnerships for social impact. They witnessed critical discussions that are now propelling action for social change and impact, and received insight into the current partnership landscape from top practitioners. They also had access to a vast network of speakers and attendees, enabling them to build new partnerships of their own.

Members received an exclusive all-access Summit experience across Plenary Sessions, Strategic Dialogues, Roundtables, and Working Lunches. They also had the opportunity to schedule office hours and/or private meetings with distinguished Summit guests and speakers.

The 2017 Annual Summit focused on advancing the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), with programming reflecting global issues such as the mounting refugee crisis, the rise of populism, the need for investment in sustainable infrastructure, and the evolution of domestic health policy, among many others.

Strategic Dialogues feature 30-40 select individuals, including current and former heads of state, Chairs, and CEOs of leading corporations and multi-lateral organizations, who discuss particularly pressing global problems in-depth. Roundtable presentations allow for extended discussion among a small group of 15-20 experts and practitioners on a specific topic in industry, public policy, or of regional concern.
