The 2016 Concordia Annual Summit took place on September 19th and 20th at the Grand Hyatt New York. The Summit convened over 2,000 participants and introduced Concordia’s Strategic Dialogue format, featuring high-level discussions on the future of Europe, the private sector’s role in achieving the SDGs, and the refugee crisis.
The 2015 Concordia Annual Summit convened cross-sector leaders to discuss scalable solutions to timely issues such as labor trafficking, international disaster response, and counter extremism. The 2015 Summit gathered over 1,000 participants and featured closing remarks by Vice President Joe Biden.
Cross-sector leaders discussed scalable solutions in counter-human trafficking efforts, the future of American energy, and economic growth in Latin America. The Summit featured a keynote conversation with former President George W. Bush and First Lady Laura Bush.
The Concordia community convened to create innovative solutions and bring existing initiatives to scale in order to serve and support our global youth populations. Concordia launched its Partnership Index in 2013 , which ranks countries based on their readiness and need to engage in P3s. The Summit featured a keynote conversation with Andrew Liveris, President, Chairman & CEO of The Dow Chemical Company.
Participants engaged in P3 focused sessions ranging from economic growth in Haiti to advancing women’s empowerment in Afghanistan, in addition to the Summit’s keynote interview with former President William J. Clinton.
At Concordia’s inaugural Summit, participants examined the fight against terrorism and struggle to combat the breeding of extremism. The 2011 Summit featured a live simulation depicting an emergency meeting of global leaders in the event of a terrorist attack and a keynote address by President George W. Bush.
