The Colombia of today would have been nearly impossible to imagine at the turn of the century. But its transformations are tangible and are a lesson for what is possible when consensus is made a national priority. Among Colombia’s recent achievements: a bigger and growing economy, much improved security, falling poverty rates, and accessible education. Despite these advances, the Colombia of today is at a critical crossroads – the political, economic, and social successes of the past few decades are under strain, with the nation divided on the future path of the country. During an intimate conversation with current Senator and former President Álvaro Uribe Vélez, the audience gained unique insight into the potential paths forward for Colombia and its citizens.
