Kelly Denson

Kelly L. Denson is the Director of Education Policy and Government Affairs for Discovery Communications. In this role, she serves as the primary liaison for Discovery Education on education policy issues, including digital learning, STEM and workforce readiness. Denson has nearly 25 years of experience in the education industry and has spoken on a variety of education topics for organizations such as the U.S. Department of Education and the American Association of Community Colleges. Prior to joining Discovery, she served as a senior policy analyst for the Educational Testing Service (ETS). In that position, she monitored policies and provided intelligence to business units on issues involving K-12, higher education, STEM, standards, competitiveness and other education-related topics. Earlier in her career, Denson was as an educational consultant for The Vanguard Group and held positions at various institutions of higher and K-12 education, in cluding Boston University, SUNY Empire State College in New York and the Dalton School in New York City. Denson holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in the Biological Basis of Behavior from the University of Pennsylvania and a Master in Education degree from Harvard University. Most recently, she led Discovery’s commitment to produce the film RISE: The Promise of My Brother’s Keeper and continues to serve as the company’s lead for MBK.
